Blackberry Messenger 7 gets BBM voice is now with free calls

“Now, People will be able to call their friends for free if they have an active Wi-Fi connection.”

Blackberry team has announced that the Blackberry Messenger(BBM) is now available on all Blackberry handsets with Operating System 6 and above versions. With the BBM, all the Blackberry users will now be able to call their friends for free if they have a Wi-Fi connection active.

The BBM voice feature was already released out on some of the Blackberry users for beta test in november, but this time they have officially released the official version.

The BBM is the exclusive application for all the Blackberry handsets, which are with the Operating system 6 and above versions. This new application lets the users send messages/files/pictures for free. For this, you only need a Blackberry handset with mobile data or Wi-Fi connection, with this you can spend as much time as you want to with your friends. This is an instant messaging service to keep a close tie with friends and family.

Some of other local networks have subscription plans on Blackberry and I think it would be really great if they will include the BBM Voice calls in their handset. If that's the case more people likes to get subscribed to a pre-paid plan instead of loading up to text or call someone-and yes, that is if the person is on Blackberry too.

Besides to the BBM Voice calls, BBM 7 also added few more features like split-screen multitasking, using other applications while on call, checking emails, and 16 new emoticons. Blackberry also made it easier to synchronize BBM groups, profiles, and contacts through their BB IDs to make it easier to either back up or restore them.

You are running on Blackberry OS 5? Dont be worried, you might be tensed by this news. But don't worry because RIM said that the OS 5 would get the BBM Voice early 2013. Reports suggests that the video chatting feature will soon be added by Q1 of early next year.
